The petulant child has done it again. His immature, overly aggressive, “nowhere-to-go” antics have caused yet another crash in F1. Just as he blamed Hamilton for their coming together at Silverstone, he has blamed Hamilton for the crash at Monza which took them both out of the race and out of the points. “This is what happens when you don’t give space,” the Dutch douche claimed right after the incident. Excuse me? Since when are your competitors obligated to get out the way for you? It’s clear Verstappen panicked, because he was about to be overtaken primarily as a result of Red Bull’s poor pit stop. The steering angle is not the one of a driver who is intending to make the corner. He should have backed out – like Hamilton did during the opening lap – and bided his time to see if he can regain the position. But that’s not the modus operandi of this child, is it?
P.S. – some pundits and the public alike have called this Senna-Prost-esque. Uh, NO. Not even close. Please stop the boot licking.
P.P.S. – Dear ESPN… cutting away the coverage right as Ricciardo and Norris are about to congratulate one another in parc ferme was an asinine move. Why even bother? It’s not as if you’re doing the actual coverage yourself (currently buying Sky Sports’ feed, while in the past leveraging the global feed with Will Buxton as your “man on the ground” while the two old farts commentated from a studio nowhere near the actual race).
